The Scottish government has recorded more than 9,900 new coronavirus cases and reported 41 deaths overnight.
According to the latest figures from the Scottish government, 9,910 new Covid-19 cases have been recorded in the past 24 hours.
This figure includes cases identified using the first lateral flow device or positive PCR test
In the past 28 days, 41 people have died after testing positive for the virus.
As a result, the death toll has now reached 10,038 since the beginning of the pandemic.
Separate figures produced by National Records Scotland (NRS), which recorded the number of deaths with Covid-19 mentioned in death certificates, stood at 12,543 as of January 9.
NRS data includes the number of deaths with “suspected” or “probable” Covid-19 on death certificates.
A total of 50 people are currently in intensive care with recently confirmed Covid-19, including 1,544 hospitalized, who have recently contracted the virus in general.
The total number of people vaccinated for the first time was 4,396,802, while 4,060,859 people have now received their second dose.
3,171,289 people received a third dose or booster vaccine.
